Eugene E. Zeinert, age 78, of Weyauwega, died on Monday, January 9, 2012 at Appleton Medical Center. He was born on November 28, 1933, in Weyauwega, the son of the late Alfred and Ella (Herzfeldt)Zeinert. On September 22, 1956, Eugene married Irene Schultz at Caroline Lutheran Church. He worked for Wolf River Sausage and then farmed for 27 years. Eugene served his country in the US Army and was a member of Arndt-Bruley Legion Post 176 in Weyauwega. Eugene was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Fremont and he enjoyed fishing, cutting wood, fixing tractors, camping and gardening. Eugene is survived by his wife of 55 years, Irene; four children, Alice(Michael)Guyette, New London; Dale(Dawn), Weyauwega; Harvey(Tammy), Weyauwega; and Kevin(Bonnie), Weyauwega; nine grandchildren, Nancy Hostettler, Ann Hanson, Rebecca(George)Fields, Jennifer(Donald)Heise, Candace Zeinert, Eric(Melissa)Zeinert, Katrina(Daniel)Herrera, Andrew(Special friend, Alison), and Lynn Zeinert; three step-grandchildren, Beth, Lisa and Johnathon Heinz; 12 great-grandchildren, Allisa, Dawson, Elizabeth, Hunter, Aida, Bailey, Lily, Jayden, Trenton, Atianna, Chloe and Damien; a brother, Marvin(Joan)Zeinert, Weyauwega; five sisters, Geraldine(David)Hanson, Waupaca; Elaine(Special Friend, Chris Schomberg)Ploetz, Waupaca; Carol(Herb)Lucht, Wautoma; Geneva(John)Moericke, Clintonville; and Sally(Special friend, Sonny) Schmitt, Dale; very special lifetime friends, Siegfried and Marion Fritsche, Weyauwega; and his two special dogs, Spike and Scruffy. Eugene was preceded in death by his parents, his step-father, a brother, Kenneth, and an infant son. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 12, 2012 at 11:00 AM at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 107 Tustin Rd., Fremont. Pastor Stephen Pope will officiate. Burial with Military rites will be in Oakwood Cemetery in Weyauwega. Visitation will be held on Thursday, at the church, from 9:00 AM until the time of service.
